We are looking for applications for Charge Up Operators to carry out development and production blasting activities for the underground operations. experienced applicants are encouraged to apply
What you'll do
- Manage explosives magazines in compliance with statutory requirements under the company’s SafeWork Explosive Storage and Manufacturing license.
- Operate and maintain a license in accordance with your SafeWork New South Wales Blasting Explosives User License (BEUL) or follow the instructions of a person with a BEUL license under direct supervision.
- Maintain a valid Security Clearance (SC) at all times.
- Conduct stocktakes and account for explosives during your shift within the explosive storage magazines.
- Relief jumbo operators, production and cable bolt drillers as required.
- Prepare and charge development faces, longhole rises, and production stope areas.
- Assist other operators with their tasks or perform duties within your area of competence.
- Inspect work areas to identify hazards and apply corrective actions when needed.
- Participate in shift changeover activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, adhering to the Company’s Safety and Health Management System.
What you bring
- A current SafeWork NSW Security Clearance (SC).
- SafeWork NSW Blasting Explosives User License (BEUL) or the ability to achieve the license.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competence in safe and efficient blasting not limited to prepping, charging and firing tasks for development headings, longhole rises and production stopes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of statutory and safe work procedures for the transport, handling, use, manufacture, storage and stock management of explosives.
- Good all round work performance and positive attitude toward Health, Safety and Environment policies, processes and systems
- and the care of equipment; and,
- Competent in peripheral tasks (service duties, operating ancillary plant), workplace safety inspections, service checks and basic general maintenance on equipment.
