We’ve got the rocks covered but we’re looking for one more incredible person to join the team based in Brisbane (Corporate Office) as our Principal Mining Engineer - Underground.

The Nitty Gritty

Reporting to the Manager - Mining Technical Services, you will work closely with operations, projects and corporate stakeholders to deliver a full range of underground mining engineering services across the business. Your focus will include defining and executing mining studies for growth projects, supporting Life-of-Mine planning, Ore Reserve estimation, undertaking technical due diligence investigations, and providing technical governance and support to operating sites as required. 

What You Bring

• Extensive underground mining engineering experience, with a proven track record in mine design, scheduling, technical studies and operational support.
• Strong study and project management capability, including scope development, consultant management, budget control, and delivery of scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies.
• Expert mine planning and Life-of-Mine planning skills, with the ability to develop and review practical, value-driven mine designs and production schedules.
• Ore Reserve and technical governance expertise, including a sound understanding of JORC requirements and the ability to provide technical assurance and risk-based decision making.
• Commercial and strategic thinking, with experience supporting project evaluations, due diligence investigations, business development opportunities and investment decisions.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, mentor and collaborate effectively across operations, projects and executive teams.
• Open pit mining experience will be highly regarded, particularly in mine planning, technical studies, Ore Reserve estimation or technical support roles, bringing a broader perspective across a diverse mining portfolio.

Brisbane Corporate Office

Our Brisbane corporate office is the central hub supporting Aeris’ operating sites, development projects and care and maintenance teams across Australia. From here, our technical specialists, sustainability professionals, geology and exploration teams, and finance and people experts partner with our site teams to drive safe, efficient and productive performance.

Alongside day‑to‑day operational support, the Brisbane office provides strategic oversight and guidance - shaping plans, setting priorities and aligning operational delivery with Aeris’ broader business goals. This ensures our sites have what they need to operate safely and effectively today, while positioning the company for future growth and opportunity.
