The true value in Aeris comes from two things: people and rocks.  We’ve got the rocks covered but we’re looking for one more incredible person to join our Brisbane-based team as a Communications Advisor.

This role is perfect for a comms guru and master wordsmith with a flair for digital communication and a knack for turning specialist technical jargon into plain‑English messages that anyone can understand.

The Nitty Gritty

Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor you will play a vital part in supporting the People and Culture team and broader company with effective communication to internal and external audiences, including current and potential employees, community and industry.

  • Implement impactful internal communication plans to support the delivery of people-focused initiatives and projects to drive engagement among our 600+ employees.
  • Support business partners to deliver internal and external communication initiatives.
  • Draft copy and develop content for digital channels (website, intranet, social media and video) and more traditional communication tools (executive updates, newsletters, bulletins, presentations, and company publications and reports).
  • Develop content for social media platforms to promote our brand to employees, community and industry in a way that educates and entertains.
  • Maintain our photo library with relevant, up-to-date and approved imagery.
  • Create impactful Canva designs and videos.
  • Support the production of publications and collateral; and
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers including designers and social media specialists.

You are:

  • A communication generalist (you don’t need to be an expert in all).
  • Handy on the socials with experience using LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Meta Ad Centre to engage audiences
  • A bit ‘techy’ with advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite and experience with Mailchimp, SharePoint applications.
  • Creative with the ability to create basic design and video content in Canva.
  • Flexible and enjoy the diversity of dealing with a variety of work.
  • A juggler who has good judgement when prioritizing deadlines.
  • A listener who understands what motivates your audiences.
  • A translator and lover of words who distills complex and technical information into the easily understood messages written in plain English
  • A planner. You take pride in being organized and seeing things through.
  • Tertiary qualified in communications or a related discipline with 3 to 5 years’ communications experience.

The Company

Brisbane Corporate Office

Our Brisbane corporate office is the central hub supporting Aeris’ operating sites, development projects and care and maintenance teams across Australia. From here, our technical specialists, sustainability professionals, geology and exploration teams, and finance and people experts partner with our site teams to drive safe, efficient and productive performance.

Alongside day‑to‑day operational support, the Brisbane office provides strategic oversight and guidance - shaping plans, setting priorities and aligning operational delivery with Aeris’ broader business goals. This ensures our sites have what they need to operate safely and effectively today, while positioning the company for future growth and opportunity.
