We’ve got the rocks covered but we’re looking for one more incredible person to join the team based in our Brisbane Office as a Principal Structural Geologist.
The Nitty Gritty
Reporting to the Executive General Manager Geology (EGMG) you will be working closely with our Exploration & Mining Teams to influences geological outcomes across multiple sites, playing a key part in translating structural knowledge into better exploration decisions, resource confidence, and mining performance. You will work to embed the Structural Geology framework and standards for the business, providing oversight and technical direction on modelling and controls and develop site guides, SOPs and reference materials.
What you Bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Unrestricted Manual Drivers Licence
- At least 3 years experience in the mining/exploration industry across either greenfield exploration, near mine exploration and/or mine geology fields – with a demonstrated focus on Structural Geology as a core discipline
- Postgraduate studies majoring in Structural Geology, or equivalent, demonstrated expertise through industry experience and professional development.
- Proven ability to design, implement, deliver and maintain structured Structural Geology training and development including competency frameworks.
- Strong people leadership qualities, including the ability to coach, mentor, and influence geologists at varying experience levels across multiple sites without direct line authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality technical reports, training modules and present complex Structural Geology concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently in line with site and business requirements.

Our Brisbane corporate office is the central hub supporting Aeris’ operating sites, development projects and care and maintenance teams across Australia. From here, our technical specialists, sustainability professionals, geology and exploration teams, and finance and people experts partner with our site teams to drive safe, efficient and productive performance.
Alongside day‑to‑day operational support, the Brisbane office provides strategic oversight and guidance - shaping plans, setting priorities and aligning operational delivery with Aeris’ broader business goals. This ensures our sites have what they need to operate safely and effectively today, while positioning the company for future growth and opportunity.
