The true value in Aeris comes from two things: people and rocks.
We’ve got the rocks covered but we’re looking for one more incredible person to join the team based at our Tritton Operation (Underground) as a Mine Geologist.
The Nitty Gritty
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely geological services across Tritton’s underground operations, from data collection through to production reconciliation. The role plays a critical part in maintaining current geological models, supporting production reconciliations, and ensuring geological information is captured, validated, and communicated effectively to inform operational and mine planning decisions.
Operating within an active underground mining environment, the role requires a strong commitment to safety, strong attention to geological data quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively with geology, mining, and technical services teams to support safe and efficient production.
What you bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent Earth Science discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in underground mine geology, including geological mapping, core logging, and sampling to a recognised standard.
- Experience in geological data collection and management, including the ability to maintain accurate, complete, and timely records across geological databases such as AcQuire.
- Familiarity with mine planning and geological modelling software, preferably Vulcan or Deswik, with a willingness to develop proficiency across all systems used at site.
- Experience in, or sound understanding of, grade control and production reconciliation processes in an underground mining environment.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, including the ability to identify and report geological and geotechnical hazards in an underground environment and act in accordance with site safety requirements at all times.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, evidenced by a track record of producing complete and error-free geological records and reports.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly report findings, escalate issues, and contribute to team discussions with the Senior Mine Geologist and operational personnel.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a dynamic operational environment, meeting deadlines without compromising data quality or safety standards.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with the ability to operate with appropriate autonomy while keeping the Senior Mine Geologist informed of progress, issues, and emerging risks.
What we offer:
- Competitive Salary Package: with Short Term Incentive Program.
- Leave policies for everybody: Our teams have options to swap public holidays, purchase additional leave, take career breaks and more.
- Parental leave for all types of families: Our paid parental leave is available to all part-time and full-time Aeris employees who have become parents through birth, surrogacy or adoption – and it can be shared between both parents, regardless of gender.
- Serious support for mental health: All Aeris employees and their families have access to free and confidential counselling services via our Employee Assistance Program.
- Partners that give you more: Our teams have discounts and benefits with private health insurance, salary packaging options, travel services and more.
- A stellar safety record: We work safely and make sure our workmates do the same. We are always looking for better ways to improve physical and psychosocial safety for our people.
- Respect for you (the real you!): Our Workplace of Respect Policy is more than words on a page. We respect and care for one another, and step in and speak up for our teammates.
