Aeris is an ASX listed diversified mining and exploration company with copper and gold operations across Australia.  Our expanding portfolio of operating mines, development projects, and exploration prospects make Aeris an exciting, growing company.

We have big plans including expansions projects at our existing mines. As part of achieving our goals we have a newly created position for a part time Project Scheduler in our Brisbane based Technical Services and Projects team.

 

This team is integral to Aeris’ business growth strategy, with the objective to establish long-life Mining Operations that are Safe, low cost and environmentally and socially responsible.  The team deliver a broad range of solutions including project development and leadership, mine engineering, metallurgy, environmental science, permitting, mine closure planning, community engagement, studies control, cost estimation, business improvement and innovation.

 

Its envisioned this will be a 15-20 hours a week role reporting to our Construction Manager and working closely with site-based teams and contractors, the role is responsible for the supporting and ensuring project execution by modelling schedules, monitoring progress and optimising resource allocation. You will be supporting the delivery of projects punctually, within scope and budget. 

 

About the role

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules outlining key tasks, dependencies, durations, and milestones, utilising MS Project.
  • Prepare and update look-ahead forecasts, performance targets, and contract programs to support proactive project planning.
  • Monitor and track project progress by reviewing site activities, completion reports, and resource utilisation, ensuring schedules accurately reflect current status.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and on-site stakeholders to collect and analyse essential project data, ensuring effective allocation of people, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate schedule updates and variances clearly, providing regular progress reports and insights to the Construction Manager and Chief Technical Officer on timeframes, costs, and key milestones.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant document control procedures, addressing any queries or concerns related to project schedules and associated documentation.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks, assess impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise project delays.

 

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally within the mining, construction, or related heavy industry sectors.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and MS Project.
  • Willingness to participate in on-site activities, including visits and collaboration with Site Supervisors and Project Engineers.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Familiarity with mining and construction industry practices, standards, and methodologies will be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and convey information effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment, and self-motivation, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work.
