About the role
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager on site, the Geology Superintendent role will lead the underground and open pit geology and drilling strategy through a team of 12, plus contractors. Essentially the role provides leadership to the geological team and management of the drilling contractor to ensure that the development of the underground and open pit mining of the mineral resources is conducted in manner that exceeds industry standards and maximises profitability in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Tritton has an exciting resource to develop across underground and open pit mining options, and our geological team ensures we maximise this potential as the operations continues to grow and evolve.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the provision of timely and accurate geological and associated reporting services that comply with legislative requirements and Company policies and procedures
- Drive long-term growth through robust near mine exploration and geological planning.
- Coordinate geological activities to align with site-wide operational and strategic goals.
- Effectively manage, plan and coordinate all site short and long-term drilling programs and resource development
- Undertake resource estimations and reconciliations that meet JORC 2014 standards.
- Management, mentoring and training of team members in their day to day roles and project work to ensure appropriate standards are maintained.
- Ensure geological procedures and protocols are regularly updated and adhered to
- Develop and enhance geological operational systems and technical reporting.
- Ensure rigorous QA/QC for drilling and production data.
- Manage contracts and programs related to geological drilling investigations.
- Lead reconciliation processes and model accuracy initiatives.
- Promote safety awareness and OH&S legislative compliance.
- Foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary team culture.
- Implement and monitor risk and cost management strategies.
- Build and manage zero-based budgets to optimize cost control.
About You
- Tertiary Qualification in Geology
- Advanced modelling and resource estimation skills in Surpac.
- Advanced database management skills preferentially in Acquire.
- Well-practised in QAQC and grade control procedures
- Relevant Geological leadership experience in underground hardrock mining
- Advanced computer skills particularly in relation to geological mapping and modelling software.
