We are looking for applications from experienced Jumbo Operators to support underground mining operations. The purpose of this role is to operate a jumbo to achieve site/organisational goals and objectives in a safe and efficient manner. The primary purpose of a jumbo operator is to advance lateral development headings in preparation for production activities and mine infrastructure. We offer Residential (supported by attractive residential bonus) and DIDO on a 7/7 days and nights roster

 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Carry out development drilling in accordance with survey and geological controls.
  • Drilling and charging activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Install ground support as per Ground Support Standards.
  • Inspect work areas to identify hazards and implement corrective measures accordingly.
  • Participate in shift changeover activities; and 
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures at all times.

 

What you Bring:

  • Demonstrated competence in the safe and efficient operation of the jumbo drill and installation of ground support.
  • Demonstrated to be capable of meeting productivity standards (metres advanced).
  • Demonstrated ability to read ground conditions and drill designs.
  • Demonstrates an ability to undertake daily servicing and routine maintenance of the jumbo.
  • Good all round work performance and positive attitude to HSE and the care of equipment; and
  • Competent in peripheral tasks (basic road maintenance, services) and service checks, maintenance on equipment.
